Twilight banned and other anti/pro Twilight news + US Open

On the news few days ago, Australian primary schools are banning Twilight (*anti-Twilighters cheers*) because they are too raunchy, sexual (I mean c'mon! We are talking about 8-12 year olds reading a series of books which has one scene that Bella and Edward had sex and then Bella gets bruises because of Edward being "too ruff"), and goes against religious beliefs (anyone heard that before? *coughs*Harry Potter*coughing ends*). I personally laughed at this because I am an anti-Twilight person. Why on earth did they let the Twilight saga into Primary (Elementary for Americans) schools when it's clearly "romance" was aimed for at LEAST 13+. Does anyone agree with me on this? (article)

Vampire Diaries by L.J Smith has come under fire because it's a "rip off" from the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. I think the Vampire Diaries are going to be a TV series and one person has quoted by the whole idea, "I want to know how the CW can come out with a new show, The Vampire Diaries, that is such a blatant rip-off of Twilight? How can they get away with it?" The thing is Twilight was first written in 2005 while the Vampire Diaries have been written over 14 years ago. This has come no surprise because the author of Jordan Scott has sued Stephanie Meyer over plagiarizing her book, Nocturne. (article)

I am currently watching the US Open (Tennis). Right now Serena Williams is playing Kim Clijsters, 6-4, 0-1 (Clijsters is ahead). It is very exciting and I hope Serena wins (who wouldn't?).
