Photoshoot problem

Story in the nutshell:

"The photo shoot didn't happen. After catching a bus to Blacktown, the getting a train to Central then catching another train with my sister to Town all, all the talked was "Join our academy!" for an hour or so. One of their courses was $849! Which is pretty much worth two iPhones."

Pretty much that nutshell covers it all. After pretty much a 2hr 15-30 minute travel to get there, they wasted my sister's time and mine. They lied to my mum and me on the phone. That was hardly a prize and they specifically said I was going to get a photo shoot. I knew there was something strange.

a) The room wasn't set up much, like no make up stands or hair stands anywhere, just rows of chairs.
b) The room was hot and there were itineraries everywhere.

I wasn't sure if the other girls got told it was a fashion shoot but I was really upset that they lied to me and mum. My sister rang mum and told the whole story about it. Mum rang the people who booked us in saying it wasn't a prize, they were against the Department of Fair Trading (they were misleading us to believe something then do something else) and I should get a prize from them because I traveled a long way!

Oh well, I hope they learn their lesson.

Blog Two: The next day (6:13)

The first night (yesterday) was difficult. Lying on the floor, civer up by a sleeping bag and dooner. The floor (mind you) was cold! I don't care, if the Blue Mountains is 1/2 cold (mainly between 10-20 degrees Celsius) and 1/2 hot (mainly between 20-35 degrees Celsius).

The last blog I told you what I was going to do. Well two drawings done and no progress on the others, I have simply FAIL! IF only I could make videos and watch them upload SLOWLY then I could be more occupied. Maybe next weekend, if I make it then.

Today I was busy reading "Harry a History" by the wonderful Melissa Anelli, who by the way, is the webmistress of The Leaky Cauldron. She has also done the famous Harry Potter podcast, "PotterCast". I love PotterCast, same with MuggleCast. You readers should read Melissa Anelli's book and listen to BOTH MuggleCast and PotterCast.

I found this really sweet in Melissa's book:

"When all the fuss and hoopla dies away, and when all the press commentary dies away, I think it will be seen that this phenomenon was generated, in the first instance, by kids loving a book. A book went on selves and a few people loved it. When all of this smoke and lights die away, that's what you'll be left with." - J.K Rowling.

It is very sweet by J.K Rowling saying this and awesome Melissa Anelli putting it in. It's so true. To all of you people who think Harry Potter will die down, it WON'T! The fans will stay true to the books and possibly (hopefully) read Harry Potter to their kids, grand kids (and maybe) their great grandkids.

Tomorrow I'm off to Central to do this competition that I came runner up with 49 others (disincluding me - 50 in total) to go to a place where they do your hair and make up to do a photoshoot. It's only for 2hrs 30 mins though.

Blog 1 - 21st August - 40 Hour Famine (first 5 min or so - 8:06 pm)

Things are pretty boring! I'm using a torch since mum wouldn't let me bring a candle into my room (it's a small room). I have brought books, heaps of paper and my school bag which has homework and textbooks to read.

I am so excited (as I said today in the blog) because it's my second time I'm doing the 40 hour famine but sad because I don't have my luxuries which I rely on (iPod, Ds, beds, lights (not so much lights but still) and of course the internet!).

I still want to know what I'm going to do tomorrow because:
a) My team is not in the finals in Hockey.
b) No TV, iPod, DS and internet (4 out of 6 things I'm giving up)!

THINGS TO DO:
In this blog (that I'm typing up after noon on Sunday) I'm going to do at LEAST 5 things to do in my free time without the things I'm giving up for 40 hours.

1.
Begin thinking of NaNoWriMo '09. Possibly write the first chapter (a draft).
2.
Read up to chapter 5 of "Ghost's child" by Sonya Hartnett.
3.
Do homework (Japanese).
4. Practice hockey skills.
5 Draw 5 drawings.

DoomAngelKitty.

40 Hour famine chooses you!

40 hour famine is in almost 3 hours and I am pretty excited. Even though before it, I have a basketball game (I am excited about that too but 40 Hour famine just beats it by a millimeter), I am still excited. I am giving up my iPod, TV, bed, lights, DS and my precious internet (if you know me, I always am on the internet 93% of the time, the other 7% is either me having a life, reading, sleeping, having dinner, or watching TV). This is probably is more challenging for me because I adore these things (apart from my friends & family-ish).

Video Hits are doing it as well (Video Hits website) and are having a 40 hour famine weekend (it's so sad that I'm going to miss it). But it's for a good cause!

Blogging between 8pm tonight AEST and 12 noon Sunday AEST will be not available. But I'll be writing stuff on a piece of paper so I can enter it on here. So you can read my thoughts about the 40 hour famine after Sunday noon. =]

Facebook-ness, YouTube-ness, MySpace-ness, Bebo-ness and Pen Pal-ness

I am currently uploading photos onto Facebook. I realize that it's really frustrating that we can only upload five photos every time. MySpace on the other hand, we can upload as MANY photos we want. I think Facebook should be like MySpace with the photo uploading, five is just not enough I say! It takes like 50 million years to upload 20 pictures onto Facebook.

YouTube is the same, but video wise. I was trying to upload a video (made from numerous clips and all of it I edited- sort of- on Windows Movie Maker - then compressed it) then when I saw the time (now YouTube has changed it's uploading, no you can see how much has upload + how big the video is + how much longer until it's finished) it was 20 hours!!!! I was horrified and was not prepared staying awake for 20 hours (unless if it was holidays and I was home alone - then it'll be a different story). I canceled uploading and now I have to delay it for about another 6 weeks (then again for a further two weeks because of the Japanese Tour). Have you guys been in this situation (video on YouTube or photos on MySpace/Facebook/Bebo).

Bebo on the other hand... Well... lets just say I haven't been for 5 months... Most of my friends haven't been on it for a year to four years. Bebo is getting to old (in my opinion), I think it was "in" 2007-ish maybe 2008. I got tired of it then realize my obsessiveness over MySpace - then later on Facebook. Don't get me started of what I'm addicted to! Including social networking. Facebook is the worst for some odd reason I get up at 6 and go on Facebook. I COULD EASILY SLEEP BUT NO!!!! Are you guys addicted to these Social Networking sites?

Interpals is a good pen paling sites. I met my very good friend Hyemi through that. Now I love pen paling. It's good to meet people from different countries. You learn about someone else and their culture/country. Also you get to know their home town/city very well. Aren't we all have to stay in the world together? Why not learn about someone else's life?

Manga, Semi-finals, Basketball and things that rolled my world in this past week

I have started to read MANGA! My friend got me into it because she knew that I am a big Japanese fan (as well I lean the language - it's HARD!). She gave me a list of mangas to read: Naruto, Prince's Cactus, Gentlemen's Alliance Cross, and Kuroshitsuji. I am up to chapter three of Gentlemen's Alliance Cross and I am getting a hang of reading manga plus loving it. Everyone who is interested (my friend gave me this website) go to: www.oneanime.com .

The semi finals (yesterday), down at Moorebank Hockey Fields, I had my semi finals for Hockey. Sadly we lost to CCGS, 3-0 but we lost gracefully and we didn't loose so badly like previous games with them. Everyone did well and we had so many close shots at goals plus many short corners! It was a very exciting game and it made me tired playing goalkeeper and I made so many saves!!!!

Basketball was a good game as well. We won 38-14ish. I had so many attempts of goals but I keep missing them. There is always next time for me to score. But last game before the win, I scored a basket and then for two free shots I score one out of two without hitting the back board. I am not sure if its pro to not hit the back board but at least I got one goal of two for the free shots (it was my first time I ever got one in that situation).

Tonight I went to my friend's sweet 16 party! My sum of the party (on Facebook) is: "(friend)'s birthday part was full of Coke sculling, random dancing, tackling people, tying people, Lady Gaga shim references, in-side jokes between me and (friend), hot guys, gossiping for three hours straight, picture taking, crossing the roads in an ill-fashioned manor, glass wearing and 116 y.o (friend) references." Sorry for putting "(friend)" in there, it's just that the fact I HAVE to beware of stalkers in case if they stalk my friends let alone me. You know how the internet works these days!

In English we are reading "The Wave" by Morton Rhue (?) and I finished the book a week before we started reading the book in class. I am forced to do homework (well apparently 'assignment') on the book, but it's simple stuff so I can do it on Debating tomorrow - we have a bye so my team is going to support the other teams, lucky that I'm going because I can hand my Wave book assignment next English lesson and not that day!

S'along everyone! Also check out my YouTube videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/DoomAngelKitty
